The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing event and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFELY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator, or official. The General Manager and/or Race Director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his/her opinion, do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final.

1. Weight 

  1. 2500 lb. Minimum, 58% left side maximum.

  2. No titanium products, parts or components allowed anywhere on the race car. No gun-drilled, tubular or hollow bolts or studs anywhere on car. 

2. Engines

  1. NO Aluminum blocks!

  2. One carburetor only, 2 or 4 barrel. 

  3. If aluminum heads are used, you must ADD 50 lbs. in front of front cross member.

3. Frames

  1. Must maintain 4" ground clearance at all times. Factory production complete full 1960 or newer parallel American passenger cars frame only.

  2. Frames may be cut in rear only at point not further than 36" from the center of rear end housing.

  3. Frames may not be widened or narrowed. Frames must be full and complete on both side. 

4. Suspension and Steering

  1. Front steering must be unaltered, approved OEM and must be in stock location. Must be replaceable by stock parts.

  2. Tierod ends and adjustment sleeve may be replaced by and minimum .625" rod end and steel tube.

  3. Stock passenger car spindles or fabricated spindles must be steel.

  4. Bottom A-frames cannot be altered or removed.

  5. Front sway bar must be stock appearing.

  6. Suspention, steering and rear end parts must be steel.

  7. Steering box must be steel approved OEM and must remain within original bolt pattern for type of frame used.

  8. No rack and pinion allowed.

  9. Coil over kits with minimum of 4-1/2" springs on rear only.

  10. NO driver adjustments allowed from cockpit area, except for brakes. 

  11. Steel Body shocks only.

5. Brake

  1. Must be steel, approved OEM APPEARING calipers. They cannot be lightened.

  2. Steel vented rotors only! No scalloped rotors. Rotors cannot be lightened. 

6. Bodies

 

All body rules are at the discretion of the Chief Tech Inspector. 

  1.  Must be full size roof.

  2. Body sides must be straight front to back with a maximum length of 120", maximum width of 66" and body rake of 6". (Must be straight front to rear and flat)

  3. Asphalt type nose-piece allowed, no wider than frame horns.

  4. Engine compartment must remain open.

  5. Passenger side of body must be no further forward than rear of engine.

  6. Right side A-post must be within 3" of right side of car or 50 lb. weight will be added.

  7. NO interior wings, belly pans, double skinned roofs, fins, wings, vanes, vertical ledges, ramps, or any other air directing devices allowed.

  8. Cars with complete windshields will be allowed a maximum 5" x 60" rear spoiler. Gurney flaps or curls are allowed, but will be included in all measurements. Vehicles without winshields may run 4" x 60" spoiler @ 45 degrees.

  9. 12" Maximum length, triangular enclosure at the A pillar will be allowed. Hubs optional, no wide five.

7. Ignition

  1. $250.00 ignition claimer rule or subject to trade. 

8. Fuel

  1. Track Racing Fuel only. No performance enhancing fuel additives of any kind. 

9. Tires and Wheels

  1. 8" steel wheels only

  2. Hoosier F53 only

  3. Maximum overall width shall not exceed 82" from outside of tire to outside of tire.

  4. Tire treating is not permitted. Any tires detected to be treated, treating equipment, treating liquids, etc. will be cause for the driver, crew chief, and car owner to be asked to leave the speedway property immediately. There will be no refunds nor winnings paid for that current event to anyone in violation of this paragraph.

  5. No wide-five hubs allowed. 

10. Safety

  1. Neck Collars are mandatory. 

These rules are intended to produce a fair and competitive field of like cars and are subject to change as needed, without notification or justification. The MMS Chief Technical Inspector and Management reserves the right to refuse any competitor without reason or justification. The intent and interpretation of the rules will be the decision of the Race Director and MMS Management. If there are any questions regarding the legality of any part(s), the burden of proof lies with the competitor.

 

The Chief Tech inspector is authorized to make changes from any specifications contained within these rules as a situation may dictate. Furthermore, the Chief Tech Inspector may impose further restrictions in attempt to maintain fairness.

 

Variance of these rules by participants that may lead to a reduction in safety or increased risk to any participant, whether enforced by Chief Tech Inspector or otherwise, shall be the exclusive responsibility and liability of the party or parties responsible for the variance. The Management of Montgomery Motor Speedway and Promoters shall not be held liable nor responsible for any variance from these rules as provided.
