2010 MINI MODIFIED RULES AND REGULATIONS

The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as aguide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official.

 

The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his/her opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final.

 

 

COMPETING MODELS:

1976 AND UP MODELS, 2 OR 4 DOOR FOREIGN OR DOMESTIC WITH A 90” TO 105” WHEEL BASE. IF NOT SPECIFIED IN THE RULES, MUST BE FACTORY STOCK FOR MAKE AND MODEL OF CAR. BODIES MAY BE INTERCHANGED BETWEEN MAKES. (MUST REMAIN STOCK APPEARING)

1. BODY AND APPEARANCE

 

 

A. Full stock type bodies, doors, fenders and hoods may be aluminum. Bodies   must be stock in all dimensions. Approved aftermarket nose must be stock appearing for make and body run. Non-approved nose must carry a 50 lb. weight penalty.

B. Full fiberglass or aluminum aftermarket bodies may run at a minimum weight of 2200 lbs.

C. Full firewall must remain.

D. Rear spoiler size 6” X 48” mounted on rear deck, centered.

E. Frame and body must have a 4" ground clearance at all times.

F. All cars must have a dash.

 

2. ENGINE AND DRIVE TRAIN

 

A. Engine must be in stock location.

B. Maximum engine size is 2350 CC.

C. Stock or stock replacement rods

D. Stock crankshafts only! NO lighting or knife edging.

E. No aftermarket heads.

F. Camshafts: NO aftermarket rocker arms or roller cams.

G. Dual overhead cam engines must run the factory EFI with factory fuel rail. If it does not come 

     on the engine from the manufacturer you cannot run it without MMS approval.

H. Intake: stock or stock type aftermarket.

I. Stock flywheels, with a minimum weight of 12 lbs. NO Aluminum.

J. Stock type pressure plates, multi-disc clutches optional. NO Aluminum.

K. Stock transmission and rear ends only, locked optional.

L. Carburetor 350 Holley, Part # 7448, Must be box stock and fit track gauges

M. No cold air boxes; Breather Can Not stick out of hood!

N. Oil pans optional.

O. No MSD Boxes

 

 

3. SUSPENSION

A. Stock suspension required in stock location.

B. Adjustable springs optional, must be mounted in the stock location for make and model of car.

C. Minimum 5” diameter springs

D. Steel Shocks only! NO coil cover or adjustable (NO Aluminum)

E. Stock must mount in stock position.

F. Coil over suspension must add 50 lbs.

G. Tube snout or chassis: Under 2000 cc - 2250 lbs.

                                       Over 2001 cc - 2350 lbs.

 

 

4. WEIGHT

A. All cars must weigh .9 lbs per CC or a minimum weight of 1900 lbs.

B. Left side weight 58% maximum (Weight is with driver in the car.)

C. All Lead must be painted white with the car number painted in red or black.

 

5. FUEL CELL

A. Fuel cells are mandatory with a maximum capacity of 22 gallons. Must have a working

Check valve and filled with foam.

B. Fuel cells must have a 10" ground clearance.

C. Fuel cells must have (4ea.) 1/8” X 1” steel straps under cell can and at least (2) on top of

Cell bolter to frame.

D. Fuel cell must be protected at the rear by (1) �” roll bar tubing extending below rear frame

�” beyond bottom of cell and the width of the cell with at least one center brace.

 

 

6. TIRES AND WHEELS

A. Steel wheels only 13” X 8”

B. Tires: McCreary American Racer or Hoosier 790's treaded

 

7. BRAKES

A. Stock brakes only 2 or 4 wheel disc, rear drum brakes approved.

B. Stock type master cylinder only. Aftermarket pedal and master cylinder assembly must add 50 lbs. of weight.
