MONTGOMERY MOTOR SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES FULL SCHEDULE FOR 2010

Montgomery, Al. (December 7 2009) Montgomery Motor Speedway owner Bobby Knox has announced the 2010 scheduled race dates for the historic 1/2 - mile speedway.

The second year of operation under the Knox leadership will see seventeen race weekends of action to include six (6) "Show Me The Money" races, an increase of two over 2009.  These races will also be increased from 100-laps to 125-laps for 2010 paying the winner $5,000.   Also returning in 2010 will be B. J. Parker's Southern Superstar Series with The World Classic on October 1-2.

The six "Show Me The Money" races are set to kick off on March 20 which is also the opening event of the 2010 racing season.  Additional events will be held on April 24, June 5, July 17, August 21 and the sixth event in conjunction with the Alabama 200 on September 18.  The final "Show Me The Money" race will be 200-Laps.

Augie Grill, Hayden, Al. is the reigning champion of "Show Me The Money" races in 2009 with three seconds and one win.  He led Houston, Tx. driver Jason Young by a mere ten points to win the 2009 title, taking home an additional $5,000 for his points title.

"Augie is tough", commented Young from his home in Houston.  "It boiled down to the last ten laps and I thought we might be able to overtake Grill but his car was so strong.  My car started pushing towards the end and had to work hard to keep it low on the track.   I like the Montgomery track a lot.  We will definitely be back for 2010.    Overall we had two thirds, a second and a win.  Augie was just a little more consistent."

Other divisions competing in 2010 at Montgomery will be the featured series, the Pure Stock Division.  Also Sportsman, Trucks, Open Wheel and Mini Mods will compete.  A new division is being formed, called Buzz Cars.  These cars are stock four-cylinder cars, front wheel drive, with any transmission.
