Bubba Blackwell Jump to Headline BAMA Budweiser Modified Mania Night at Montgomery Motor Speedway
(Montgomery, AL) – Montgomery Motor Speedway General Manager, Chris Carter, has been hard at work ensuring that the May 19th Bama Budweiser Modified Mania night is a whale of a show for the fans. He recently announced that motorcycle daredevil Bubba Blackwell will be added to the show, performing a 90 ft. jump that night. Bubba is best known for breaking Evel Knievel's jump records for both cars and buses using a Harley-Davidson XR-750 motorcycle.
“I am excited to have Bubba Blackwell come to Montgomery and put on a show for these great fans.” commented Carter, “This man is amazing in what he does. I know the hometown Montgomery crowd will be as thrilled as I will be for this!”
Blackwell's jump is not the only headliner of the evening, however. The Bama Budweiser Modified division will race for 50 laps, with $1,000 on the line to the winner.
The debut of the Capital Recycling Bomber division at Montgomery Motor Speedway is gearing up to be an exciting show as well. The Bomber cars will qualify, giving the pole sitter the distinction of being the first-ever track-record holder in the Bomber division at the famed half-mile. The Capital Recycling Bombers will then race in twin 15 lap features, with $400 on the line for the winner of each feature, giving the possibility of one Bomber division driver to take home $800 is prize money. The entire finishing order from the first race will be inverted for the starting lineup of the second race! Furthermore, full championship points will be awarded for each race as well.
Also on the card for Saturday night, is the return of the Trucks to Montgomery's half-mile. The Truck division, which took a hiatus in 2011 will have a 35 lap feature on the card. The Street Stock division, and the always exciting Buzz class will have features as well. At the last race back on March 31, these two divisions had some of the best door-to-door racing you can ask for.
