Montgomery Motor Speedway is BACK!

Due to a couple of people who don't live in or near the community near the racetrack, Bobby and Mark Knox have decided to canceltheactivities scheduled for Sept 13th. Bobby has talked with people at Montgomery City Hall concerning the proposed open practice and Pure Stock race, and all concerned believe it would be in the best interest if the race was canceled until the Board of Adjusters meeting the 3rd Thursday in October. With this being said, the only looser would be the Catoma VFD. All proceeds from the days events would have been donated to the CVFD, at least $1000, for their use as needed. Since the cancellation, Bobby will donate from his own pocket, the $1000 promised.

Montgomery Motor Speedway will reschedule this event, hopefully for the 1st Saturday in November. Please keep reading the shorttracktalk.com for further updates.

PS: MMS was purchased from Bill Manfull. The license was transferable, but someone has blocked the transfer. This is no problem! We will go back to the Board of Adjusters and make our case. The problem seems to be two individuals a Mr Bucovich and Mr Reese. These are the people who don't live in the community surrounding the track, but have plans to build a housing project accross from the track. We have a lot of time and we can go to the Board of Adjusters meeting with numbers. They thought it was crowded last time. We at MMS will be racing soon!

Posted: 8/29/08 - There will be a open practice on Saturday, September 13th at Montgomery Motor Speedway. Gates will open at 8:00 AM and the day will end a dusk, about 7:00 PM. There also will be a Pure Stock Race for all Pure Stock cars. The race will begin around 3:00 PM. We're looking at a 20 lap event. All process will go to the Catoma Volunteer Fire Department. If you have questions concerning this event call Doug Carwile, at 334-799-0966. If no please answer leave me a message. Racers and fans, this is the time we need you and your support, Please be there!

Added: 8/30/08 - Cost of admission is a donation to the CVFD. What ever you want to give. We would like to raise a minimum of $1000. The top three in the Pure Stock/Street Stock race will receive trophies. Open practice will be for all divisions.

Loosenuts Racing and the Front Porch Grill will have their BBQ grill at the practice. They will providing hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and drinks. These items will be sold for donations only with ALL proceeds going to the Catoma VFD.
